HAYS - Payroll officer full-time office based in North Manchester – Temporary assignment for 3 months plus

Your new company

Join a growing education trust with a supportive, collaborative culture and a strong commitment to staff development. You’ll be part of a central HR team that plays a key role in delivering high‑quality services to schools across the organisation.

Your new role

As the Payroll Officer, you’ll take ownership of delivering accurate monthly payroll across the trust, managing starters, leavers, pay changes, statutory payments, and payroll queries with confidence and professionalism. You’ll work closely with HR and finance colleagues, ensuring payroll data is correct, deadlines are met, and staff receive clear, timely support. Alongside payroll, you’ll contribute to wider HR activity, from producing management information to supporting audits, onboarding new schools, and helping improve processes across the trust.

VISA SPONSORSHIP is NOT offered and UK payroll experience is ESSENTIAL.

What you'll need to succeed

You’ll bring strong end‑to‑end payroll experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work calmly under pressure. Confidence with payroll systems, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and the ability to build positive relationships across multiple sites will be key. Experience in the education sector or with systems like i-Trent would be an advantage, but a willingness to learn and adapt is just as important.

What you'll get in return

You’ll join a friendly, forward‑thinking team where your expertise is valued, and your development is supported. The trust offers a varied role, opportunities to shape evolving processes, and flexible working options.
