Hybrid Payroll Officer Job - Rushden - Full-time - 1 day a week on site
Job Title: Payroll Administrator
Location: Hybrid (1 day per week in the office and on collaboration days)
Working Hours: 7.5-hour shift pattern between 8am to 5.30pm (5pm on Fridays)
Salary: Up to £28,000

Overall Purpose of The Role:
As a contributing member of the payroll team, the job holder will be a Subject-Matter Expert in payroll administration and will work collaboratively within the team to process payroll data for both weekly and monthly paid colleagues.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
- Answer complex queries from all stakeholders effectively and within service level agreement.
- Process payroll data for allocated payroll within the agreed timetable deadlines.
- Upskill, knowledge share, and cross-training team members to cover for holidays and peak workloads (e.g., TUPEs).
- Escalate any concerns to the senior or team manager for appropriate discussions with the business as per the service level agreement.
- Support pensions and other shared service functions as required.
- Periodically test and demonstrate results in respect of system changes to ensure the HR system remains compliant in respect of payroll.
- Ensure data protection legislation is adhered to, and care is taken in dealing with employee data.

Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience within payroll administration.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly a high level of Excel knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail, with an ability to work on complex issues within tight timescales.
- The ability to process high volumes of employees and handle end-to-end payroll, including tax and payments.
- Open to candidates who show promise and have transferable skills.
