Location: Warrington (Hybrid – 2 days remote)
Salary: Up to £33,000
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Holiday Entitlement: 25 days plus bank holidays
The Opportunity
A well-established industrial services organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Advisor to join its busy and fast-paced payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with a background in high-volume, multi-site environments who is confident about managing end-to-end payroll processes and enjoys working collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll from start to finish across multiple sites
- Ensure compliance with national agreements and statutory requirements
- Manage payroll actions for new starters and leavers, including termination payments
- Calculate and administer statutory and occupational payments (SMP, SPP, SSP, etc.)
- Handle redundancy calculations and payments
- Respond to payroll queries professionally and promptly
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery
- Produce payroll reports for internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
- Keep up to date with payroll and pension legislation
- Communicate with third parties such as HMRC, pension providers, and courts
- Adhere to and promote internal payroll policies and procedures
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a payroll role within a multi-site or complex contractual environment
- Strong understanding of payroll and pension legislation, including HMRC reporting requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate level)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- A recognised CIPP qualification is desirable but not essential.
