Payroll Executive job in Glasgow

Your new company
Our client is recruiting a Payroll Executive to join their team on a permanent basis. The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week and there is relative flexibility with start and finish times. The organisation operates a hybrid working model which offers 3 days in office and 2 days from home. The offices are based on the outskirts of Glasgow. There is on-site parking, and the offices can also be accessed by public transport.

Your new role
Working as part of a Payroll team, the Payroll Executive will have ownership of a portfolio of clients and undertake a range of payroll responsibilities. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Deliver accurate and timely payroll services meeting all agreed deadlines
  • Administer end-to-end payroll processing, including pensions, benefits, and statutory payments such as SSP and SMP
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring compliance with auto-enrolment regulations
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports, including year-end reporting
  • Act as first-line support for payroll queries, providing clear and professional advice to internal stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with clients, HMRC, and third-party providers through effective communication
  • Carry out general administrative duties to support the wider payroll function
What you'll need to succeed
It is essential that you have proven, successful payroll processing/payroll administration experience. It is preferred, but not essential, that you have experience of bureau/practice payroll. Your attention to detail will be second to none, and you'll be confident working with payroll systems and Excel to produce accurate reports and analysis. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be liaising with internal stakeholders, external bodies, and supporting the wider HR team.

What you'll get in return
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and successful payroll function that offers excellent flexibility and a generous benefits package. If you're someone who enjoys working independently while being part of a collaborative team, and you're looking for a role where you can make a real impact, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
