Hays Accountancy & Finance is supporting a major Norfolk employer who are looking for an experienced payroll clerk to join them in an ongoing temporary role for at least 3 months, which may be extended.
Your new role
As the temporary payroll clerk, you will join the team and take responsibility for processing new starters, leavers and any contract changes which will affect their pay, as well as checking approved hours for any faster payments. You will mainly manage the monthly payroll with your duties being processing staff expenses using an ERP-based HR & Payroll system, and updating sickness records, so ideally, you will have experience of SSP and other HMRC deductions.
As the business has various departments, you will be tasked with producing payroll-related reports as well as dealing with queries from the employees and senior management.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be immediately available and have experience of processing end-to-end payroll, including staff expenses, and be aware of standard payroll legislation as well as HMRC statutory deductions. This is a busy, fast-paced, dedicated payroll team who process over 1,200 staff across various payrolls who require temporary support for at least 3 months, which may be extended.
