Payroll Administrator - Cardiff - 6 Months
An established organisation in Cardiff is looking for a Payroll Administrator to join their people team on a minimum 6-month contract, with the potential to be extended.
This role is ideal for someone looking for part-time hours (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday), but we’re open full-time for the right candidate. It comes with a welcoming and well-equipped modern office, alongside internal career development opportunities.

Hybrid role: 1 day in the office and 2 from home.

You’ll be responsible for
- Processing starters, leavers, and contract changes in the payroll system
- Managing statutory payments like SMP and SPP, liaising with legal and HR teams
- Handling pension enrolments and reconciliations
- Responding to payroll queries with accuracy and professionalism
- Collaborating with People Services to refine processes and document improvements
- Supporting monthly reporting, audits and system updates
Who we're looking for
- Strong understanding of PAYE, NIC, tax codes and payroll compliance
- Experience with payroll and HR systems (Access, Indigo, or similar)
- Excel skills
- Sharp attention to detail, great communication and calm under pressure
