Payroll Assistant job in Brislington

Your new company
An international manufacturing business in Brislington are looking to appoint a detail-oriented and organised Payroll Assistant to support with the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees. The successful candidate will work closely with HR, Finance and the operational team to ensure payroll data is maintained accurately and employees are paid correctly and on time.

Your new role

  • Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Input and maintain payroll data including new starters, leavers, salary changes and employee benefits.
  • Process overtime, shift allowances, bonuses, holiday pay, sickness absence and statutory payments.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Support pension administration, including employee enrolment and contribution processing.
  • Maintain payroll records in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Collect and validate timesheet and clocking data from production and warehouse teams.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to hours worked, overtime and absence records.
  • Liaise with managers to ensure payroll information is submitted accurately and on time.
  • Assist with HMRC submissions and payroll compliance activities.
  • Support year-end payroll processes, including P60s and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations for Finance and management teams

What you'll need to succeed
  • Previous experience in a payroll administration or payroll assistant role.
  • Strong numerical and data-entry skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of payroll processes and payroll legislation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
