Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their team on a temporary basis

Duties include;
- Process monthly payrolls accurately and on time
- Input, update and maintain employee payroll data (new starters, leavers, changes)
- Validate timesheets, hours worked, overtime, and absence records
- Calculate statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP, SHPP)
- Process deductions such as tax, NI, pensions, student loans and other adjustments
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies before final sign‑off
- Generate and distribute payslips
- Manage queries from employees and managers, providing timely resolutions
- Support year‑end processes, including P60s, P11Ds and payroll reporting
- Assist with pension submissions (e.g., AE files, pension uploads)
- Ensure payroll compliance with HMRC regulations and company policies
- Maintain confidential payroll documentation and audit trails
- Liaise with HR, finance and external providers where required
- Support payroll projects, process improvements and system updates
You will have;
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Good understanding of payroll processes and legislation
- Knowledge of statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.)
- Familiar with tax, NI and pension deductions
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
- Confident using payroll systems and Excel
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Excellent communication skills for handling payroll queries
- Discreet and professional with confidential information
- Problem‑solving mindset and ability to investigate discrepancies
- Team player but able to work independently
- Adaptable and able to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Customer‑focused approach when supporting employees
