Payroll Specialist | Leeds City Centre | Upto £35k

Your new company

Hays are delighted to be working with a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide, who are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their successful and established Payroll department.


Your new role

  • Assisting with end-to-end processing of payroll for over 2000 employees.
  • End to end IR35 payroll processing.
  • Process the monthly payroll
  • Effectively liaise with the external payroll providers.
  • Continuously review and update internal and external payroll processes.
  • Understanding and dealing with payroll-related queries in an efficient and effective manner.
  • To undertake all aspects of pension scheme administration, including auto enrolment requirements.
  • To assist with updating the P11D system with quarterly car changes for submission to HMRC and end-of-year data.
  • To assist with the change to payroll of benefits.
  • To produce weekly and monthly reports for stakeholders.
  • Other payroll admin tasks


What you'll need to succeed

  • A CIPP or similar qualification is preferred.
  • Competent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
  • An ability to understand working alongside a payroll bureau is desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience of IR35 payroll processing is desirable.
  • Experience of processing multiple payrolls is desirable.
  • Have the ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of calculating and processing statutory payments (SMP, SSP, etc) is required.
  • Knowledge and experience of Salary Sacrifice and National Minimum Wage is required.
  • Knowledge and experience of manually calculating payments gross to net is required.
  • Knowledge of benefit and pension schemes for processing and reconciliation is desirable.
