HR Payroll & Benefits Administrator for a mission driven science & technology organisation
Job Title: Senior HR, Payroll & Benefits Administrator
Location: Oxford (on‑site)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Reports to: HR Operations
The Opportunity
We’re partnering with a mission‑driven science & technology organisation to appoint a Senior HR & Payroll Administrator. This role blends end‑to‑end payroll and benefits with core HR administration, supporting a complex, fast‑scaling environment with high standards of compliance, accuracy and service.
What You’ll Do
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate employee records (contracts, changes, sickness, etc.)
- Support onboarding, offboarding and recruitment administration
- Produce HR reports and assist with people data analysis
- Manage HR systems and ensure data integrity
- Respond to employee queries and support policy implementation
Payroll & Benefits
- Process monthly payroll accurately (salaries, bonuses, statutory payments, deductions)
- Administer benefits; liaise with providers/brokers for enrolments and renewals
- Maintain payroll/benefits data for starters, leavers and change events
- Act as first point of contact for payroll & benefits queries
- Generate payroll reports for HR, Finance and leadership
- Manage third‑party payroll relationships and support transition to Oracle Fusion
- Ensure compliance with UK tax, pensions and employment regulations; stay current with legislation
Immigration & Compliance
- Oversee right‑to‑work checks and sponsor duties
- Support visa/immigration processes and compliance tracking
About You
- 2+ years’ payroll processing experience (in‑house & outsourced)
- Solid HR admin knowledge and understanding of UK employment law
- Hands‑on experience with UK visa & immigration processes
- Numerate, analytical and detail‑driven with high integrity/confidentiality
- Strong communicator; organised with excellent time management
- Proficient with HRIS/payroll systems (Oracle Fusion; ATS exposure helpful)
Desirable:
- CIPD Level 3+ (or equivalent experience)
- Degree in HR/Business (or equivalent)
- Payroll certification (e.g., CPP, Payroll Technician Certificate)
On‑Site Working
- Primary workplace: Oxford (on‑site)
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required (UK/international) in line with business needs
- Global remit: During peak periods, some extended hours and cross‑time‑zone coordination may be required
