PA to Headteacher/Office Manager Job Available at Secondary School in Prestwich
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Temporary PA to the Headteacher / Office Manager to join a busy and welcoming secondary school in Prestwich. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong school-based administrative experience who is ready to take the next step, support senior leadership, and play a key role in the smooth running of the school office.
While previous experience as a PA in a school setting is not essential, experience working within school administration is required, and we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
Contract: Temporary (until March 2026)
Location: Prestwich
Start Date: January 2026
Hours: Full-time, 7:30am - 3:30pm
Rate: £16 - £20/hourKey Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality administrative and organisational support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
- Manage the Headteacher’s diary, appointments, and correspondence.
- Act as a professional and courteous first point of contact for staff, students, parents, and external agencies.
- Prepare documents, reports, briefing papers, and presentations as required.
- Support with minute-taking, meeting preparation, and follow-up actions.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Contribute to wider school office functions as needed, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the school.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong experience working in a school administrative role.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Confident communicator with a professional, calm, and approachable manner.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and school MIS experience (e.g. SIMS/Arbor/other).
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality within a school
Desirable:
- PA and diary management experience within a secondary school
- Experience supporting senior leaders.
- Minute-taking experience.
- Knowledge of safeguarding protocols in schools.
