Operations Manager – Portfolio Operations (Existing Business)

Location: Milton Keynes (4 days on site)

Our client, a UK-licensed business lending organisation, is establishing a new operational site in Milton Keynes. To support this growth, they are seeking an experienced interim specialist to join the leadership team as Operations Manager – Portfolio Operations (Existing Business). This pivotal role will help shape best-practice processes and ensure the smooth running of business-as-usual activity across the loan portfolio.


The Role


As Operations Manager for Portfolio Operations, you will take ownership of all in-life loan management activities, ensuring efficient, compliant and well-controlled BAU operations. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing in-life loan servicing and customer support
  • Overseeing collections, arrears and payment management
  • Ensuring accurate reconciliations and strong financial controls
  • Producing and maintaining MI, operational reporting and data integrity
  • Maintaining consistent compliance with internal policies and regulatory expectations
  • Driving operational improvements and embedding best-in-class processes
  • Utilising internal workflow and loan management systems (experience with nCino is advantageous)



About You


We are looking for an experienced operations leader with:

  • Proven experience in portfolio operations, loan servicing, collections and arrears management
  • Strong capability in running stable BAU operations within a regulated lending environment
  • A track record of delivering operational enhancements and process improvements
  • Proficiency with operational workflow systems; familiarity with nCino is beneficial.
  • The ability to operate effectively in an interim, contractor or temp-to-perm capacity



Engagement Details


  • Contract length: 3–6 months initially
  • Start date: Mid-January 2026
  • Engagement type: Day-rate contract or fixed-term contract options
  • Working pattern: 4 days per week on site in Milton Keynes
