Operations Manager - Midlands - Non-Infrastructure / Clean & Waste Treatment

Your new company

Our client, a Tier 1 contractor operating in the water industry, is seeking a Construction Manager to join their team for the Severn Trent Region on a 3-month contract with a high probability of an extension. You will be working on management of a project within region (Non-Infrastructure Clean & Waste treatment).

Your new role

  • Manage construction and regional staff
  • Assist with site audits suggesting improvements as appropriate
  • Provide technical assistance to the Project Managers, Site managers, site supervisors and in-house designers as appropriate
  • Aid with pre-qualification tender submissions & pre-acceptance issues
  • Progress Reports / Safety Reports
  • Assist in Procurement of SC packages (with QS)
  • Attend meetings with Project Managers, Designers and Clients
  • Maintain financial forecast of project with PM & QS
  • Communicate effectively with management, supervisors, site teams and sub contractors via management meetings, team meetings tool box talks and day to day discussions
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate records to ensure recovery of asset values together with as-built records.

What you'll need to succeed

  • At least 5 years management / supervisory experience within the utilities / construction industry
  • Ability and experience to manage both direct labour and sub contract operatives
  • Ability to interface with both developers and adopting utility companies
  • Awareness of adopting utility standards
  • Ability to manage both departmental and project budgets
  • Experience in dealing with and resolving contractual disputes
  • Proven track record of delivery.
