Your new role
The role is to lead and manage the operations planning team to achieve an efficient and effective flow of products through the full manufacturing process within the agreed delivery schedules and financial budget. Lead Production Planning departments ensure best in class processes and operations. Ensure production is planned efficiently to ensure production volumes are achieved on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis and corporate objectives are met in full. Ensure sufficient material availability and flexibility in line with customer schedules. Inbound and outbound logistics co-ordination and tracking. Complete weekly and month end analysis of operations planning performance and issue reports/KPI’s as required. Ensure all program launches meet supply chain deployment deliverables in a timely manner. Support forecasting and scenario planning activities to enable Operations Managers and Schedulers to make informed decisions. Support with creation of recovery plans where performance falls below the requirement. Maintain optimised levels of inventory and keep within agreed financial levels of approved inventory holding.
What you'll need to succeed
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Operations Scheduling Management role with make to order and stock planning experience. Can demonstrate a strong working knowledge of production planning and scheduling. Experience of working with and implementation of ERP systems would be advantageous. Experience of driving activities to improve relevant KPI performance. Strong commercial awareness of an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ability to create informative and accessible reports on KPI performance. PowerBi experience. Dynamics 365 experience and awareness. Lean manufacturing awareness – training or qualifications in this area would be advantageous. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal. Strong people skills, and experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
