Requirement for a Site Operations Manager

Your new company

This is an organisation where innovation meets impact. You’ll be joining a business that is not only growing but shaping the future of sustainable operations in Northern Ireland. The company has recently celebrated industry awards for excellence and hosted a royal visit, highlighting its reputation as a leader in its field. With major investment in cutting-edge technology and ambitious plans for expansion, this is a workplace that values progress, collaboration, and professional development. Employees benefit from a culture that encourages ideas, rewards achievement, and offers the chance to work on projects that make a real difference to the environment and the community.

Your new role

As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the plant and associated remote sites. You will lead a culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance while driving efficiency and profitability. In this role, you will manage all aspects of plant operations, ensuring stability and smooth processing. You will also lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, maintaining training and competence requirements for all direct reports. Compliance with various standards will be central to your responsibilities, alongside managing budgets, forecasts, and CAPEX proposals to optimise financial performance. Regular liaison with regulatory bodies will be required, ensuring timely reporting and implementation of improvement actions. Additionally, you will identify and deliver site improvement projects in collaboration with the maintenance team.

What you'll need to succeed

You should be a strong leader with proven experience of managing teams and driving operational performance in a process-driven environment. You should have excellent people management skills, with the ability to build a positive culture, develop talent, and maintain high standards of safety and compliance. A solid understanding of waste handling and resource management is important, as you will oversee feedstock acceptance, processing, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Analytical thinking and commercial awareness are essential, as you will interpret data, manage budgets, and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement. Strong communication skills are required to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, alongside resilience and adaptability to manage change. A full UK driving licence is essential, and experience in compliance and safety management would be advantageous.

What you'll get in return

You will join a forward-thinking organisation that values its people and rewards performance. In addition to a competitive salary, you’ll benefit from a comprehensive package including a company pension scheme with a 7% employer contribution, annual bonuses, and BUPA health insurance. You’ll also receive company sick pay, death-in-service cover at four times your salary, and access to salary sacrifice schemes for cycle-to-work and electric vehicles. Annual leave is enhanced at 25 days plus bank holidays.
