Initial 3-month ContractLocation: Birmingham

Hays is currently assisting a local council with recruiting a Wellbeing Operations Manager. This exciting opportunity allows you to work within the local community and make a significant impact. You will be responsible for managing and developing the Council’s Wellbeing Centres and Hubs, with a particular focus on setting and achieving operational standards and performance goals. Key objectives include maximising participation, enhancing customer satisfaction, and generating income.

Key Responsibilities

  • To identify and pursue opportunities to maximise resources available to the Wellbeing Centres and Hubs and increase participation, and work in partnership with other Council services and external organisations to provide an efficient, effective, and integrated service to support the delivery of the Council’s key priorities.
  • To lead the operational management of the Council’s Wellbeing Centres and Hubs, driving continuous service delivery and performance improvement towards a “best in class” standard
  • To support the delivery of the Be Active programme in liaison with the Wellbeing Programme Manager.
  • To identify and pursue opportunities to maximise resources available to the Wellbeing Centres and Hubs and increase participation, and work in partnership with other Council services and external organisations to provide an efficient, effective, and integrated service to support the delivery of the Council’s key priorities.
Qualifications and Experience

  • Substantial experience of operational facility management in the leisure industry
  • Experience of successfully leading and developing staff teams
  • Experience of effectively managing financial resources, including revenue budgets and one-off funding streams
  • Able to demonstrate a focus on customer service and an understanding of public relations in a political context
  • Proven ability to negotiate and influence and to develop and maintain effective cross-service and external partnership working
