About the company:

We are working with a fast-growing food distribution business with a strong reputation for quality and reliability. You will be operating a fleet of 30+ vehicles daily, and managing a busy warehouse team. The company is on an exciting growth trajectory, with a family-run culture and a commitment to operational excellence, they're looking for an Operations Manager to join their team and help drive efficiency across transport and warehouse operations.

Your new role:

As Operations Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day operations across transport and warehouse, ensuring smooth processes and high standards of service. You’ll manage rota planning, performance monitoring, and compliance, while supporting change initiatives and driving continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead teams, resolve operational issues, and work closely with the Operations Director to implement new business plans.

What will you need to succeed in this role?

  • Strong experience in transport and warehouse operations , ideally at shift manager level or above.
  • Knowledge of route planning systems, warehouse software, and compliance (including WTD and H&S).
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness and flexibility to adapt to business needs.
  • A good understanding of employment law and legislation (HR / RTW / Investigations/ disciplinaries)
  • Investigating warehouse and drivers’ complaints, documenting, and advising on next steps
  • Ideally, International CPC qualification
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves
