Middle office operations analyst, 5-month contract, Belfast (hybrid), up to £23 p/h
We are delighted to be partnering with a global investment bank in recruiting a market operation analyst. Key responsibilities include daily monitoring and reconciliation of trading activity to ensure accurate risk capture and prompt resolution of exceptions. It involves investigating trade and payment discrepancies, collaborating with traders, clients, and Operations teams, and serving as a central point of contact across departments. The position also requires maintaining and enhancing operational processes, addressing regulatory reporting exceptions under frameworks such as EMIR and MiFID II, reviewing control reports to identify recurring issues, supporting user acceptance testing for system upgrades, and delivering timely management information in response to queries.
What you will need to succeed:
- Minimum 1 years’ experience working within Fixed Income, preferably in a Middle Office, Operations, or Product Control capacity.
- Strong Excel skills (VBA a major plus or knowledge of Access DB).
- Must be creative and open-minded as the Middle Office is looking to find the best possible solution for issues.
- Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment and under tight deadlines, as part of a team, and be incredibly self-motivated.
- Flexible with working hours as the position will occasionally require early starts or late nights
- Familiar with Dodd-Frank and EMIR regulatory rules / ISDA definitions / Industry initiatives

Although this role is for 5 months there is a high possibility it will extend past that. This role would require you to be in the office at least 3 days per week in Belfast.
