Outreach worker required in Gloucester & Cheltenham

Your new company

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation dedicated to finding suitable accommodation for vulnerable and at-risk individuals. Their focus is on people experiencing homelessness, many of whom may also be facing mental health challenges or drug and alcohol dependencies. Their mission is to empower these individuals to build resilience, develop life skills, and successfully transition from street-based living into sustainable accommodation and independence.


Your new role
As an Outreach Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering specialist outreach support to adults with a history of rough sleeping across both rural and urban areas of Gloucestershire, including Gloucester and Cheltenham.

Main responsibilities:

  • Identify and build relationships with people who are rough sleeping in Gloucestershire through outreach sessions and regular visits to agencies and venues frequented by this population.
  • Conduct needs and risk assessments for clients, developing tailored support plans that address their individual needs.
  • Provide advice and information to empower clients to access appropriate services and accommodation.
  • Participate in rostered outreach sessions, which include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working 5 days on a rota
Salary: £25,235 per annum


What you'll need to succeed

  • A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle insured for business use.
  • Experience working in a social care or health care setting.
  • A strong understanding of the causes of homelessness and social exclusion.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, empathetic, and resilient approach.
