A Multi-Academy Trust is seeking a Network Manager for a cluster of schools in North Manchester.

Your new company

This multi-academy trust has gone through a significant period of growth over the last couple of years, and due to this growth they are looking to appoint a Cluster Network Manager to join their IT team on a permanent basis. This is a large multi-academy trust with future growth plans, and it is therefore an exciting time to join the trust, where you will experience further growth and development as the trust continues to grow. You will be based at a North Manchester secondary school, however also with responsibility for 3 primary schools based locally, and you will become an integral part of the IT team. The IT team is well-established, with an IT Director who has a very positive and proactive approach, working collaboratively across the trust with all schools and all teams.

Your new role

Reporting to the IT Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all IT infrastructure and services across your cluster of schools, consisting of 1 secondary and 3 primary schools and overseeing the IT team on site. As Network Manager, you will be responsible for hardware, software, bespoke technologies and the planning and delivery of IT projects in your cluster of schools. This will involve working with the 2 IT technicians who will provide an efficient IT service to staff and pupils, responding to IT requests and issues and ensuring these are resolved quickly. From an operational management perspective, this will also involve completing monthly reviews, managing performance and upskilling and developing individuals. You will be responsible for the IT budget for your schools, ensuring you are working in line with this and also working with third parties around the procurement of IT equipment.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess IT management experience, ideally having worked in the education sector with a strong knowledge of systems and processes in this sector. You will have a passion for IT and deliver a high level of service, working closely with end users and improving overall performance from an IT perspective. Experience of overseeing a team and upskilling and training more junior members of staff is also essential.
