Network Consultant - Fully remote

Your new role

We are seeking a Network Engineer / Consultant with a proven record in successfully delivering a range of support functions to clients, including experience in: systems monitoring; troubleshooting; and diagnostics. The role will involve liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to fully deliver operational systems and ensuring 2nd / 3rd line technical support is provided as required.

There is an on-call element to this role (once per month), covering out of hours, 6pm – 8am the following day, and weekends.

What you'll need to succeed

Understanding of the application of network technologies in an IT services delivery market.
Technologies include: Palo Alto NGFW (Panorama, Wildfire, AV, App-ID, Coretex Data Lake), Cisco ACI (APIC, NDO, VMWare integration), Citrix Netscaler, Solarwinds (Orion).
Proven track record supporting network hardware and software in a complex multi-protocol environment.
Advanced understanding in the use of DNS/DHCP/BGP/BDO, proxies, security, VPN etc
Ability to demonstrate diagnosis of network issues and bring forward proposals for resolution.

A deep understanding and working knowledge of Citrix Netscaler SSL termination, content switching and advanced load-balancing mechanisms. A proven track record of working with application blueprints to build and support complex network load-balancing configurations. Proficient in the day-to-day management of Palo Alto firewalls including next generation features. Ideally you will have practical experience with Palo Alto's Panorama management tool to inspect firewall logs to troubleshoot connectivity problems and be able to build complex firewall policies.

Must be able to demonstrate a high-level skillset working with Cisco switching and routing in an enterprise sized network. A working knowledge of Cisco ACI (leaf and Spine topology) or some practical exposure to Cisco ACI would be highly advantageous.

Some experience with Network automation tools like Python and Ansible is highly desirable, but not essential.
