Frontend Developer, £38,000 - £42,000 per annum, 4.5 day working week, Northampton

Your new role

As a Frontend Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing user interfaces for e-commerce projects. You will work closely with backend developers and designers to create seamless and responsive web applications. Your expertise in headless architecture, Progressive Web Apps (PWA), and content management systems like Hygraph will be vital in delivering high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain responsive web applications using modern frontend technologies.
  • Implement headless architecture to decouple frontend and backend systems for greater flexibility and performance.
  • Build and optimise Progressive Web Apps (PWA) to enhance user experience on various devices.
  • Integrate and manage content using Hygraph, ensuring seamless content delivery across different platforms.
  • Collaborate with designers to translate UI/UX designs into interactive and performant applications.
  • Work with backend developers to consume and interact with APIs effectively.
  • Ensure code quality through best practices, including code reviews and testing.
What you'll need to succeed

  • Frontend Development: Minimum of 3 years of experience with frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS/LESS, JavaScript, and frameworks/libraries like React or Vue.js.
  • Headless Architecture: Proven experience in implementing headless CMS solutions, particularly with Hygraph (or similar tools like Contentful, Strapi).
  • Progressive Web Apps (PWA): Hands-on experience in building and optimising PWAs, utilising tools and frameworks like Vue Storefront, React Storefront, or PWA Studio.
  • Version Control: Proficiency with Git for version control and collaboration.
  • Ecommerce: Experience working in e-commerce environments, understanding the specific needs and challenges of online retail.
  • Desirable Skills: Design: Experience developing wireframes and mock-ups using Adobe Creative Suite
