Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Your new company

You’ll be joining a well‑established and growing manufacturer in the timber engineering sector. The organisation supplies a wide range of clients, from private customers to major national construction firms and is continuing to expand its production capabilities.

Your new role

You’ll be part of a small, multi‑skilled maintenance team, reporting to the General Operations Manager. Your responsibilities will include planned and reactive maintenance across production equipment, completing routine schedules, installing new machinery, fault‑finding on automated systems, and supporting seasonal overhauls and continuous improvement projects. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the site to minimise downtime and maintain high safety and performance standards.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Time‑served, multi‑skilled maintenance professional with 18th Edition wiring regulations.
  • Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment, ideally within shifts.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining standards.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, servo drives, robotics and automation (desirable).
  • Flexible and willing to work shifts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work well within a team and communicate across departments.
  • Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
  • Self‑motivated, customer‑focused, and able to work independently.
  • Proven background working with similar systems and equipment.

What you'll get in return

You’ll join a supportive and expanding team where you can contribute to meaningful improvement projects and work with varied equipment. The business offers stability, opportunities to develop your technical skills, and the chance to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing a busy production environment.
