Multi-Skilled FM Electrical Engineer | Doncaster | 12 Week Temp

Location: Doncaster – Major Logistics Facility
Contract: 12‑week temporary assignment (potential to become permanent depending on performance)
Salary: Up to £40,000 / £20 per hour DOE
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role
A leading facilities management provider is seeking an experienced Multi‑Skilled Electrical Engineer to support a large‑scale, high‑volume logistics and fulfilment operation in the Doncaster area. This role focuses on ensuring the reliable operation of critical building services, plant, automation assets and site infrastructure through effective planned and reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
Planned & Reactive Maintenance
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across electrical and mechanical building systems.
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance, prioritising urgent tasks to support continuous site operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum.
  • Complete all required maintenance documentation and digital updates accurately.
Technical Duties
  • Perform electrical repairs, inspections and system testing across site equipment.
  • Work on electrical circuits, control panels, distribution boards, conveyor systems, automation technology and general M&E plant.
  • Support mechanical tasks where competent, contributing to a multi‑skilled engineering approach.
  • Conduct site surveys and prepare risk assessments, method statements and technical reports when needed.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company and onsite safety procedures, ensuring safe working at all times.
  • Identify and report any potential hazards, defects or non‑compliant conditions.
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with relevant engineering regulations and industry standards.
Stakeholder Interaction
  • Liaise professionally with onsite operational teams and internal colleagues.
  • Support subcontractors and ensure quality, safety and compliance standards are upheld.
  • Represent the engineering function with professionalism, reliability and customer focus.
Person Specification
Essential
  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds).
  • 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations certification.
  • Strong background in electrical maintenance within commercial, industrial or logistics settings.
  • Proven experience in electrical fault‑finding and problem resolution.
  • Good understanding of building services, plant operation and safe working practices.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Confident communication and ability to work independently.
Desirable
  • Additional mechanical skills or previous multi‑skilled engineering roles.
  • Experience with BMS, HVAC, automation systems, conveyors or large distribution environments.
  • Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, COSHH awareness, etc.).
  • Previous engineering work within high‑volume, fast‑paced operational environments.

  • Calm under pressure and able to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with pride in quality of work.
  • Comfortable participating in call‑out rotas and occasional travel to nearby sites if required.
Working Environment
You will be based within a major logistics and fulfilment centre, supporting a dynamic 24/7‑style operational environment. The role requires a hands‑on approach, dealing with a broad range of plant, equipment, automation technology and facility systems in a fast‑moving industrial setting.
