About the Company
We are a well-established and growing multidisciplinary consultancy based in Norwich, offering integrated expertise across Building Services (MEP), Civil Engineering, and Architecture. Our collaborative and design-led approach enables us to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions across a wide variety of complex and large-scale developments.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking to strengthen our Building Services team with the appointment of a Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to take on a senior role within a collaborative MEP team. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical designs while supporting project leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to client relationships.
The role offers a balance between technical delivery, project leadership, and team development, with clear progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of Building Services systems across a range of projects
- Deliver technically robust solutions from concept through to detailed design
- Take ownership of project elements, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
- Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Collaborate closely with electrical, civil, and architectural teams on multidisciplinary schemes
- Attend client meetings and contribute to maintaining strong relationships
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practice
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation across the team
About You
- Proven experience in a Building Services / MEP consultancy environment
- Strong background in mechanical design (HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation systems)
- Experience working on a range of project types and values
- Ability to manage workload independently and contribute to project delivery
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members (especially at Principal level)
- Chartered status (or working towards) is desirable
