Senior Mechanical Engineer to take a leading role on a major construction programme in the North East
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to take a leading role on a major construction programme in the North East. The project involves the expansion of an existing facility and is currently progressing through design and pre-construction. With site works scheduled to commence in February, this is a delivery-focused position where you will be instrumental in driving mechanical engineering outputs through to completion.
Key Duties
- Provide technical leadership across all mechanical engineering aspects of the build
- Supervise and support an M&E Engineer reporting directly to you
- Ensure mechanical systems are designed, coordinated, and installed to the highest standards
- Work closely with design consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders to resolve challenges and maintain programme timelines
- Oversee construction delivery, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance benchmarks
Candidate Profile
- Extensive background as a Senior Mechanical Engineer on complex construction projects
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems within large-scale facilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage junior engineers and foster collaboration
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Proven track record of guiding projects from design through to successful delivery
