Mechanical FM Engineer
⚙️ Mechanical Engineer – OX14 – Temporary (3 Months+)
Hays are recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support a busy site in OX14, working as part of an established on-site engineering team.
Location: OX14
Shifts: 5am–1pm, 9am–5pm, 15:30–23:30 (rotating)
Pay: £25.00 – £27.50 per hour (Umbrella) / £19.19 – £23.00 PAYE
Contract: 3 months initially, with potential to extend

The Role: You’ll carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding across a range of plant and equipment to ensure minimal disruption and high performance.
Key Duties:
- Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance
- Working on pumps, motors, valves, pipework and HVAC systems
- Diagnosing and repairing faults
- Supporting minor installations and upgrades
- Reviewing and improving maintenance schedules
- Ensuring all work is compliant and safe
- Supporting subcontractors and completing documentation
What We’re Looking For:
- Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent)
- Background in FM, building services, or similar environments
- Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently
- Flexible to work rotating shifts
