The company:
Based in South Essex, you will be joining a well-known manufacturing company which specialises in the design, manufacturing, build and installation of automated machinery working in several industries, such as the pharmaceutical industry.
Due to large expansion, the company is now looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong layout design skills and knowledge to join and be part of their design team.

Essential duties and responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
  • Working closely with other departments in the design of layout drawings and service diagrams
  • Generating equipment layouts, with supporting mechanical documentation (service drawings, schematics, etc.)
  • Maintaining existing mechanical drawings and documentation
  • Act as a liaison for project managers and customers to handle design, layout and service queries
  • Liaise with the Drawing Office Manager for the workload to ensure project timelines are adhered
  • Work with the wider teams, such as projects teams, assembly and electrical teams.

This is just a summed-up list of responsibilities and other duties will be required.

Skills and Experience required:
  • Experience in a similar role, within an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to use Autodesk products such as AutoCAD (2D) Inventor (3D) relevant 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks.
  • Recognised engineering qualification or completed apprenticeship.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines whilst keeping a strong quality of work.
  • Motivated and willingness to work with the wider teams to complete tasks and duties.
