Your new role

Your new role as a Mechanical Design Engineer will involve the mechanical design of water and wastewater projects, ensuring they meet client requirements. You will be responsible for producing Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) using Plant 3D, and collaborating on 3D models in Revit and Plant 3D. Your role will also include the production of General Arrangement Drawings, Sections, and Elevations. You will liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain quotations for equipment and services, attend regular project design and site meetings, and work closely with process engineers, electrical engineers, and ICA Engineers. Compliance with all ISO Quality & Environmental policies and procedures, as well as health and safety rules, is essential. You will enjoy the full life cycle of a project from initial specification to commissioning.

What you'll need to succeed

What you’ll need to succeed is a mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND or similar) and at least four years of experience in a similar mechanical design role. You should have experience working within a multidisciplinary design team and be proficient in using 3D Modelling software. An innovative approach to work is essential. Desired experience includes using AEC software such as Revit, Plant 3D, Civils 3D, Inventor, and SolidWorks. Previous experience with multidisciplinary projects, preferably within the Mechanical/Electrical Engineering sector of the water industry, is highly advantageous. You should be capable of contributing to the commercial management of M&E works, including assisting with work estimates, and have knowledge of BS1192 / PAS1192 standards.
