Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to ongoing growth and new programme wins, our client is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.

Your new role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of complex engineered products, working in a highly regulated and quality-driven environment. You will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from concept development to production support.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software (e.g. CATIA / Siemens NX / SolidWorks)
  • Supporting the development of new products in line with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Conducting design validation, testing, and performance analysis
  • Producing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Supporting manufacturing teams with design for manufacture (DFM) and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Investigating and resolving design-related issues and non-conformances
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including stress, certification, and production engineering
  • Ensuring all designs meet strict industry standards, safety, and compliance requirements

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have:
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in mechanical design within a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. aerospace, automotive, or similar)
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with design validation, testing, and product development cycles
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
