Warrington high school. Mixed KS3 & KS4 resource provision. Long-term temporary contract from September.

Your new company

Hays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a Warrington-based high school that is at the heart of its local community as they are looking to appoint motivated and experienced teaching assistants to support the learning and engagement within a mixed KS3 and KS4 (key stage) resource provision. This school is looking to appoint at least two teaching assistants for long-term full-time contracts that will last the full academic year.

Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school, you will support the class teacher in the delivery of stimulating and engaging lessons within a mixed KS3 and KS4 learning provision by utilising an array of learning material/equipment. As you will be supporting pupils with a variety of SEN (ASD, LD, GLD, and mobility needs) you will be required to take a pupil-centred approach to their learning by differentiating between pupils, enabling you to ensure their individual needs and EHCP requirements are met. The pupils you will be supporting are fairly independent but, due to their needs, are working at a KS2 level, requiring 1:1 academic interventions in Maths and English. Other duties will include:

  • Implementation of positive behaviour strategies: movement breaks, brain breaks and sensory circuits
  • Speech and language interventions
  • Liaison with teacher and SENCO on pupil progress, including EHCP requirements
  • Maintaining and developing accurate pupil records, including recognising key milestones

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting pupils between the ages of 11 - 16, and:

  • Experience delivering interventions and boosters
  • Experience supporting SEN
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential

What you'll get in return

If you are successful in your application, you will receive the support, dedication and guidance of a senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a wide range of amazing benefits, that include:

  • Free training
  • Upfront cost of DBS covered
  • Company pension scheme
  • Long-term contract
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Competitive rate of pay
  • Access to exclusive vacancies
  • Refer a Friend scheme
