Maths Teacher – SEMH Secondary School
Location: North Manchester | Start Date: September | Contract: Temporary (Potential to Become Permanent)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist secondary school in North Manchester that supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is committed to providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where students are supported both academically and emotionally. With small class sizes, a strong focus on pastoral care, and a collaborative staff team, the school offers a rewarding and supportive place to work. This is a full-time role starting in September. It is initially offered on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent based on performance and suitability.

Your New Job
As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will work with students who may have experienced disrupted education and require a flexible, trauma-informed approach to learning. Your role will include:
  • Planning and delivering differentiated Maths lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs to build confidence and resilience.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and pastoral staff to provide holistic support
  • Contributing to the wider school community and ethos
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • A strong understanding of SEMH needs and inclusive teaching practices
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
