Role Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the marketing and communications strategy to embed the purpose and values of the organisation into their narrative and maximise the impact of their work
- Develop the content planner for the organisation, strengthening the corporate voice and working with internal clients and project managers to deliver outcomes
- Oversee the work of the communications team, leading on storytelling approach for different audiences, managing the planning and prioritisation of tasks, and ensuring that content delivers a positive impact
- Lead on the copywriting of all content across the organisation from magazines and reports to social media and website content with confidence and a style that fits with the tone of voice of the organisation, working with the in-house designer on the creation of this collateral
- Support other teams and functions across the organisation
- Manage the organisation’s proactive and reactive media and social media profile, maintaining positive relationships with local and national media, influencers and other media sources
- Manage, develop, and lead the communications team
Person Specification
- Degree or equivalent
- Accredited qualification such as CIM or CAM
- Membership of a relevant professional body
- Experience of leading a small comms and marketing team or being part of a larger team with personal experience of delivering across all comms disciplines
- Experience of delivering, measuring and reporting of communications and marketing impact
- Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies across a wide range of communications channels
- Experience of interpreting brand across a range of digital, printed, and on-site communications platforms
- Experience of providing high energy and managerial skills
- Experience of managing a budget
- Experience of managing website content and social media account management
- Experience of working collaboratively with all stakeholders, including staff, board members, volunteers, members, partners, funders, and other supporters.
- Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
- Relationship builder with flexibility
- Experience/understanding of working for a charity, membership organisation, or ENGO
