Support retail trade marketing activations in-store; briefing, project managing and communicating

Your new company
I am working with a globally recognised toy brand with a strong retail presence to recruit a Retail/Trade Marketing Manager for a 6-month temporary contract. With a focus on empowering children through imaginative play and purposeful learning, this role is ideal for someone with proven experience in retail trade marketing who’s eager to support engaging in-store campaigns and drive customer connection through creative execution.

Your new role
As an Assistant Trade Marketing Manager, your job is to drive the best brand experience at retail level to engage and inspire consumers. You will plan and execute retail activations with an omnichannel approach to ensure the brand stands out in an engaging and impactful way.

You will utilise consumer, shopper and retail insight to inform, develop, implement and evaluate highly effective retail campaign materials, collaborating closely with global In-store, Marketing Agency, Sales and Brand teams. You will implement your ideas across POS and branded online stores (eCommerce) to create a concise brand feel at every customer touchpoint, and will be responsible for managing both agencies and budgets to ensure effective implementation.

You could also support in-store branding and more 'permanent' fixtures and retail installations; liaising with project coordinators, visual merchandisers, and the retailers themselves to project manage longer-term and more robust fixtures in UK stores.

What you'll need to succeed
You will utilise your understanding of Marketing in the retail landscape in order to efficiently plan and activate retail execution campaigns. You will demonstrate proficient project management & analytical skills in order to utilise shopper research and run the end-to-end project process in such a fast-paced environment. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and therefore being a team player is essential to your success. You will also use your previous experience in budget management – tracking spend, processing invoices and raising POs – and briefing & managing external agencies.

The position does come with challenges, in the form of a high pace and workload, so you need to be brilliant at prioritising what’s important, and also dealing with ambiguity, as their retail execution plan can be fluid & changeable.

What you'll get in return
Depending on experience, you will receive a daily rate between £198 - £264 per day for this 6-month contract. This is a great opportunity for someone who would love to work with and protect one of the strongest brands in the world, aiming to inspire the children of tomorrow. You will be able to see tangible results of your work and projects out in the marketplace, truly inspiring customers.
Based in Slough, you'll be able to work in a hybrid way with two days home working per week and flexible hours.
