Your new role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take ownership of the full commercial function for a high-profile highways project. Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage budgets, cost control, and subcontractor relationships while ensuring compliance with NEC contracts.
Key responsibilities include:
Procuring subcontract packages and compiling tender documentation
Administering contracts and handling variations, delays, and claims
Preparing monthly applications for payment and forecasting cash flow
Leading commercial meetings and maintaining strong client relationships
Establishing and managing project budgets with accurate cost reporting
This is a pivotal role where your expertise will directly influence project success.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
Proven experience in senior commercial roles within highways or heavy civils
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and cost control processes
Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and build client trust
Professional membership (MRICS/MCICES) and experience in delay analysis and claims preparation are highly desirable.
