Assistant Management Accountant
Part‑Qualified CIMA / ACCA | Permanent | £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE) | Sheffield
Your New Role
As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager and wider finance team in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information. Working within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, you will gain exposure to management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance, helping drive performance across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs
- Supporting annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles
- Monitoring product costs, margins, and manufacturing variances
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting and weekly reporting
- Supporting stock accounting, stock reconciliations, and inventory analysis
- Helping prepare KPI reports for operational and commercial teams
- Providing analysis to support decision‑making and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting internal and external audit requirements
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Part‑qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) / actively studying
- Experience in a finance role, ideally within manufacturing, supply chain, or construction
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
- Proactive approach and willingness to take ownership
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- A desire to learn, develop, and progress within a growing organisation
