Your new role
This is a newly created role which has come about due to business growth. You will work within a small, high-performing finance team, sitting under an impressive and ambitious Finance Manager and Finance Director. Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Preparation of monthly Management Accounts
- Supporting the Finance Manager with streamlining processes to enhance financial performance
- Provide support to the Junior Management Accountant and Finance Assistant, managing and mentoring two individuals, ensuring high performance and assisting with their career development
- Providing support to external auditors, including assisting with the finalisation of statutory accounts
- Business Partnering - Working closely with various internal stakeholders across multiple departments
- Providing support for various projects, working closely with the Finance Manager and Finance Director
What you'll need to succeed
- Recent, relevant experience working as a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant - you'll need strong accounting and double entry knowledge as well as month end close experience
- Proactive and eager to learn; someone who wants to take the next step in their career and oversee a small team.
- Previous people supervision experience (or being the 'go to' person) is advantageous (but not essential).
- Retail/Fashion industry experience is advantageous (but not essential).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to consistently meet tight deadlines.
