Wind Turbine Technician to support maintenance and operational activities - South Wales

Wind Turbine Technician – South Wales
Location: South Wales (with work commencing directly from the local wind farm site) Service Centre:
Hours: 40-hour week, 8-hour shifts
IR35: Inside

The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Wind Turbine Technician to support maintenance and operational activities across a portfolio of onshore wind assets in South Wales. Working as part of a small, skilled team, you will play a key role in ensuring turbines are maintained safely, efficiently and in line with all compliance standards to maximise energy yield and asset value.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing and inspection of wind turbines and balance‑of‑plant equipment.
  • Performing reactive and proactive maintenance, fault finding, retrofits, inspections and major component exchanges.
  • Using SCADA and other diagnostic systems to interpret turbine behaviour, reset faults and build fault histories.
  • Working flexibly and proactively to minimise downtime, including occasional on‑call duties and weather‑dependent scheduling.
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and paper maintenance records.
  • Supporting broader site operations including spares, projects and non‑routine work.
  • Following all HSSE procedures and contributing to a positive safety culture.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve safety, turbine performance and operational processes.
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualification to HNC, ONC or NVQ (mechanical/electrical discipline).
  • Proven experience in wind turbine maintenance.
  • Confident using advanced tools such as hydraulic equipment, inductive heaters and specialist diagnostic tools.
  • Strong understanding of HSSE systems and safe working protocols.
  • Skilled in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and power electronics troubleshooting.
  • Competent slinger/banksman with experience working in small, self‑sufficient teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support other onshore sites.
  • Full GWO certification including Enhanced First Aid and Advanced Rescue.
  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Full GWO certification
  • Technical background in mechanical/electrical engineering
  • Wind turbine maintenance experience
Desirable
  • Experience working on Senvion MM platform turbines
