School Maintenance Technician | Redhill, Surrey | £27,497 - £28,766 per Annum

About the Role:
This school is seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Technician to join their school team. This is a hands-on role where you will play a vital part in ensuring the buildings, facilities, and equipment are safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose, creating the best possible environment for pupils to learn and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver all activities with an energy-efficient ethos.
  • Respond to and resolve maintenance requests via online ticketing systems.
  • Assist with planned maintenance inspections across services, utilities, and building fabric.
  • Organise and carry out the movement of furniture and equipment as required.
  • Maintain and audit school vehicles, mileage logs, and usage registers.
  • Ensure the safe storage and administration of keys, tools, equipment and materials.
  • Record findings and take necessary action as part of the maintenance team.
  • Carry out any additional tasks and responsibilities as instructed.
What We are Looking For
  • Practical skills in general maintenance and repairs.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to health and safety and energy efficiency.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider aims of the school.
Experience
  • At least two years’ experience in site maintenance in a similar role.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Proven understanding of safe working principles and Health and Safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safe use of chemicals.
  • Competence in basic repairs using a range of tools and equipment.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Willingness to work unsociable hours when required.
