Maintenance Surveyor Job - Kent - Long Term Freelance - Damp & Mould Specialist
We are looking for a Damp and Mould Surveyor to work for a Kent-based Local Authority, working in private sector housing on a fixed term contract for 6 months. The salary is offering up to £30 p/h, depending on experience.
Your new role
- Remove damp and mould hazards in private sector homes.
- Provide housing advice to tenants, landlords, and agents.
- Investigate complaints about housing conditions related to damp and mould.
- Conduct Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) inspections.
- Prepare and serve statutory enforcement notices.
- Manage building works and associated contracts.
- Prepare case files for prosecutions and civil penalties.
- Represent the council in court and tribunals.
- Maintain technical competence and accurate records.
- Adhere to health and safety policies.
- Participate in emergency planning and business continuity.
- Undertake evening and weekend inspections as required
What you'll need to succeed
Specialist knowledge of Damp and mould hazards, remedial techniques, building construction, housing law, criminal investigative procedures. Previous experience with inspecting properties, developing solutions, writing specifications, supervising building contracts, conflict management.
A full driving licence is a must.
