Exciting Job opportunity: Air Source Heat pump Maintenance operative : York

Job objectives and responsibilities


  • We are seeking an experienced Air Source Heat Pump Engineer to join our team.
  • You will be responsible for delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance for gas systems. You should be able to demonstrate knowledge of current gas regulations and gas industry unsafe situations.
  • You will act as a trainer and mentor to prisoner working groups, completing Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Helpdesk tasks while maintaining SHE standards. You will liaise with engineers and subcontractors, proactively addressing client concerns and relaying them to management as needed. You will develop a detailed understanding of site engineering services and contractual requirements, enforce business risk management procedures, and participate in duty standby/call-out rosters and emergency response teams. Supporting best working practices, you will complete work-related documentation accurately and on time, troubleshoot site issues, and recommend remedial actions. You will coordinate connections to existing plant/systems and maintain O&M Manuals and quality procedures. Availability for scheduled and unplanned weekend work is required. Completing all PPMs and reactive maintenance on time and closing out in SAP.


Person Specification


  • You should have full domestic A.C.S. Qualifications, including CPA1, CENWAT, CCN1, CKR1, HTR1, MET1/2, and City & Guilds NVQ (ACS Aligned) Level 3 or equivalent. You must be Gas Safe registered, and an ASHP certificate is preferable.
  • We are committed to developing our team. If you do not currently hold all the required tickets or licenses, we will support you in obtaining them. The successful candidate must be prepared to attend the following courses: WRAS (1 day) for water regulations (minimum of two years plumbing/heating experience preferred), and an Air Source Heat Pump Training Course (3 days). Completion of this course will earn you an LCL Awards Level 3 Certificate, recognised by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
  • Experience working within a custodial environment is advantageous.
