Facilities Technician required for a public sector authority based in Warrington.

Your new company

Hays are currently looking for a Facilities Technician to work for a public sector authority based in Warrington.

Your new role

1.Mechanical and electrical knowledge is essential.
2.Carrying out maintenance activities both reactive and remedial as directed by the Preventative Planned Maintenance planner ensuring standards are maintained,
maintenance activities, inspections and repairs logged and recorded.
3.Diagnose and repair issues relating to the buildings infrastructure, including lights, doors, furniture, painting and decorating and plumbing.
4.Ensuring that all maintenance and repair work is completed safety and in compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
5.Liaise and co-ordinate with external contractors ensuring relevant risk assessments and method statements are completed and in place.
6.Duties may include (but not limited to) fault finding, minor repairs or installations and maintaining services and equipment within a critical environment.
7.Previous experience in facilities maintenance or related field is essential.
8.On Call availability is required for a 24/7 365 days a year building.
9.Computer literate including Microsoft excel and word.
10.Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in facilities maintenance - preferable.
11.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics
12.IPAF and Plasma are desirable but not essential as training can be provided
13.Experience of Three Phase electrical essential.

What you'll need to succeed

For this role you will need;

  1. Industrial / commercial mechanical / electrical maintenance experience.
  2. Ability to professionally manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  3. Strong organisational, planning and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  4. Ability to diagnose and remedy electrical/ mechanical faults.
  5. A knowledge of health and safety, water hygiene (L8 ACOP) – preferable.
  6. Able to work alone as well as part of a team.
  7. Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  8. Self-motivated and able to work using own initiative.
  9. Great interpersonal and written communication skills. Able to communicate at all levels within the business.
  10. Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of building systems and equipment - essential.
