An exciting opportunity for an in-house lawyer to join a prominent UK food producer and supplier, as the business's first legal hire. The company is looking for a lawyer to support with a wide range of commercial and corporate legal matters.
The role will be 3 days per week to start, transitioning to full-time in approximately a year. The ideal candidate will be flexible and hard working with a desire to help shape the role and evolve with the business in the coming years.
Responsibilities
- Stay up to date and advise on pertinent laws, regulations, and industry standards impacting the food sector.
- Contribute to updating, developing and implementing internal policies and procedures as well as providing the relevant training to internal stakeholders
- Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts including but not limited to, service agreements, licensing agreements and vendor contracts.
- Providing legal advice to internal stakeholders regarding contract interpretation, rights, and obligations.
- Collaborate with internal departments in various European countries, aligning legal regulations across the jurisdictions.
- Support with a range of corporate matters such as transactions, M&A and JV's.
- Assist with dispute resolutions and litigation matters.
- Manage external counsel.
- Support with corporate governance activities and company secretarial matters.
Qualifications
- 3 PQE+ as a guideline
- Preference for England & Wales qualification
