SEN Learning Support Assistant Job in Corby

Hays Education is working with a specialist school in Corby who are looking for a new Learning Support Assistant. The school provides an excellent education for pupils with a range of needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This is a temporary-to-permanent position to start in September 2025.

Your new school

You'll be working in an SEN school in Corby for children and young people aged 4-18 with varying additional needs including ASD and PMLD. The school was built in 2018 and currently has over 140 students. The school has a fantastic offering for its students including a hydrotherapy pool, forest school, physiotherapy room and recording studio!

Your new role

In your new job as a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work with a team of like-minded practitioners to support pupils with a range of additional needs. You will support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups adapting your style to the needs of each child. Hays Teaching Assistants make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people who have a range of care needs, life experiences and personalities which make every day different! You’ll benefit from on-going support from your Hays consultant who will be there for you throughout this placement and beyond.

What you need to succeed

To succeed in your new job, you’ll have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working with young people who have ASD and/or PMLD, ideally in an educational setting. You’ll be able to adapt to the needs of students across age groups with previous experience supporting children with communication and/or sensory needs. Most importantly, you’ll be confident stepping into a new school and ready to quickly build relationships with colleagues, pupils and parents.
