For those working in adult-focused roles, your caseload will primarily involve litigation in the Court of Protection, including:
  • Managing cases from inception through to conclusion
  • Providing clear and practical legal advice to clients
  • Conducting your own advocacy at hearings
  • Instructing counsel where required
This is a varied role, offering a mix of remote working, office attendance, and travel to courts and other locations.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified (or soon to qualify) Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx Fellow with relevant litigation and advocacy rights.
You should ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Care Act 2014
  • Mental Health Act 1983
  • Community care law
  • Advocacy within safeguarding or family proceedings
  • Public law, including judicial review
Newly qualified candidates with relevant training and a strong interest in safeguarding law are encouraged to apply.

What you'll get in return
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Generous annual leave
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Exceptional maternity and paternity leave policies
  • Cycle to work scheme and travel discounts
  • Access to employee healthcare services
