An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its expanding team. Role Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in mechanical design within a supportive and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will assist in the design and development of mechanical systems and components, contributing to real-world engineering projects from concept through to delivery. For the right candidate, there is a clear pathway to progress into a Project Engineering role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of mechanical systems and assemblies
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, specifications, and reports
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to engineering problem-solving
- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure design feasibility and compliance
- Ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards and health & safety regulations
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to learn and grow within a professional engineering environment
- Understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
