A junior Buyer is required for a fixed-term contract with a progressive manufacturing business.

Manufacturing Junior Buyer Based in Aylesbury. For an initial 3-month Fixed Term Contract with possibility to be extended

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Junior Buyer to join a leading player in the manufacturing and engineering sector, renowned for delivering innovative solutions to global clients.


The Role:

As a Junior Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective supply of products and services. Reporting to the Group Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for placing and expediting orders, negotiating pricing, and supporting timely customer quotations. You’ll gain exposure to all aspects of procurement, from day-to-day activities to strategic projects, including supplier selection, inventory management, and cost improvement initiatives.
This is an ideal role for someone eager to learn and develop within a supportive team environment, with opportunities to progress and broaden your procurement expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Place and expedite purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
Negotiate pricing and submit costs for customer quotations.
Support procurement projects including supplier selection and cost analysis.
Monitor inventory and report on delivery performance.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.

Skills & Experience

Background in manufacturing or engineering preferred.
Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP systems.
Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Analytical mindset with confidence working with data.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ambitious, inquisitive, and eager to learn.
Ideally studying towards CIPS qualification.
