Temporary Joiner/ Carpenter| Nottingham| 3-month Contract| Up to £22 p/hr

Your new company

You’ll be joining a large, multi‑site organisation with a diverse property portfolio, spanning historic buildings through to modern facilities. The Estates & Facilities team is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional and high‑quality environment across one site. You will be part of an established, supportive and skilled maintenance team operating within a fast‑paced, safety‑critical setting.

Your new role

You will work 37.5 hours per week from Monday–Friday.
Pay: £20- £22 p/hr, via Umbrella or PAYE. We do not pay CIS
Contract: Temporary 3-month contract, temp to perm opportunities available.

As a Joiner / Building Maintenance Operative, you will carry out a wide range of carpentry, joinery and building fabric maintenance tasks. Your duties will include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing joinery faults, including locking systems and ironmongery
  • Manufacturing, assembling and installing joinery components using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and statutory checks (e.g. fire doors, window restrictors)
  • Working from technical drawings and job specifications with minimal supervision
  • Supporting multi‑skilled work across building trades when competent
  • Using computerised maintenance systems and driving company vehicles when required
  • Communicating professionally with staff, visitors and service users

What you'll need to succeed

  • A recognised joinery qualification and extensive experience in building maintenance
  • Strong fault‑finding skills and the ability to work independently
  • Competence in both workshop and site‑based joinery
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Fire Door knowledge is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work across multiple campuses when required
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one
