Hays are looking for a maintenance joiner to work as part of a multi-trade team in Edinburgh City Centre.

Your new company

You will be joining an established trades team at one of the most recognisable organisations in the Edinburgh area. Due to a worker leaving, they have had a space opened up within their facilities & estates team for a maintenance joiner.

Your new role

Your duties may include:

  • Repair & replacements on doors, windows, frames, skirting boards, and furniture.
  • Install and fit new joinery items including shelving, notice boards, and bespoke fittings for classrooms or offices.
  • Respond to maintenance requests & carry out routine inspections to identify wear and damage.
  • Assist with refurbishment projects, including dismantling and reassembling furniture or fittings.
  • Work with other trades (electricians, plumbers, painters) on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Provide emergency joinery repairs when required, such as securing broken doors or windows.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to be fully qualified as a joiner and be able to provide all relevant paperwork. As this role covers multiple sites across Edinburgh, you will need a UK driving licence and will be given access to a works van where required. Alongside your qualifications, you will be required to provide recent working references and go through a criminal records & convictions declaration.

What you'll get in return

You will be offered an immediate contract and be paid weekly PAYE with paid annual leave. Due to the nature of this vacancy, there is a high chance this could transition into a permanent role for the right individual. You will receive regular updates from your Hays consultant.
