A multi-academy trust has approached Hays looking for Interim IT support at a school in Walkden. There are around 1500 pupils aged 11-16.

Your new role

In this role you will provide day-to-day IT support in the school. You will be working alongside another IT Technician:

• Providing assistance and advice to staff and students as required.
• Providing technical support, ensuring IT systems are effective, efficient and secure.
• Undertaking day-to-day management of incidents and requests
• Setting up equipment such as laptops, data projectors, interactive whiteboards, sound systems and other specialist IT equipment, ensuring that systems are ready for use and operating correctly.
• Providing advice, guidance and assistance to teachers, pupils and other members of staff on the use of IT in the school
• Maintaining IT installations, peripherals and software; restoring faults, replacing consumables, updating software and setting up new equipment.
• Detecting, diagnose and resolve computer, server and peripheral device faults. Interpret diagnostic information, prioritise resolutions and determine if external support is required.

What you'll need to succeed

• Have experience in an IT support role (education sector experience desirable)
• Technical ability
• The ability to build relationships
• Excellent organisation and administrative skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
• Enhanced DBS
